Domus Retreat in Anaheim, California was a short term substance use treatment center that specialized in opioid and alcohol detox and treatment. The center was a 6000 square foot facility with six private suites and secluded grounds. The center only treated six patients at a time and was designed to treat primarily executives. Unfortunately this rehab retreat has now closed.
Rapid Detox using Waismann Methods
The Waismann rapid detox method and medication assisted treatments were used at this facility to help you get through detox more quickly and jumpstart your recovery. An aftercare program offered around the clock care for clients in recovery from alcohol and opioid rapid detox.
The body and mind are hypersensitive after rapid detox which causes instability that needs 24 hour supervision and care. After several days of intensive care, clients were able to continue their treatment and recovery.
Individualized Private Therapy and Treatment
The center provided an executive program which ensured confidentiality and privacy during treatment. Clients did not meet in groups but met individually with the therapist, David B. Livingston, LMFT, who is an addiction expert.
The center used a non 12 step approach and instead focused on relaxation and complete individualized care for clients. Inpatient programs lasted one to four weeks.
The center did not treat addiction as a chronic disease. Instead clients were encouraged to find their inner strength, a greater self awareness, and healthy coping tools to promote sobriety.
Luxury Homelike Amenities
“Domus” means “home” in Latin. The center ensured clients felt at home in a large spacious house with private bedrooms and bathrooms, lovely robes, flourishing landscaping, and comfort food prepared by a gourmet chef.
In addition to accommodations, the center offered swimming pools, outdoor recreation areas, and exercise equipment. Therapeutic activities included massage, yoga, and drama therapy.
